DEVELOPING THE WARRIOR WITHIN

POEM OF YESHUA-WARRIOR

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God;
It was never between you and them.

- UNKNOWN SPIRITUAL WARRIOR

(This Poem was found at the death bed of Mother Teresa)

ADOPT THE PEACE OF GOD

One prayer: PEACE
One hope: HARMONY
One dream: UNDERSTANDING
One vision: LOVE

“Submit to God and be at peace with Him;
in this way prosperity will come to you.
Accept instructions from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart”.

JOB 22.21-22

“Peace I leave with you; my Peace I give you.
I do not give you as the world gives.
Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid…
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have Peace”.

JOHN 14.27; 16.33

God is a planer, a strategist. He is incredible organized and He has a definite peace. More like a marathon runner than a sprinter, He has our whole lives in mind, not just tomorrow. Remember God is never late. Never try to hurry God. The Bible says in Isaiah, “He that believeth shall not make haste” (Is.28.16). Urgent matters are seldom matters. Pressure usually accompanies us when we are out of the peace of God.

Adopt the peace of God; His secret is patience. There is no time lost in waiting if you are waiting on the Lord. The road to success runs uphill, so don’t expect to break any speed records. All great achievements require time. Happiness is a direction, not a destination.

Walking in the peace of God helps establish us on the proper foundation. Nothing is permanent unless it is built on God’s will and God’s Word. “Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it” (Ps.127.1). “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in His ways” (Ps.37.23). Never remain where God has not sent you.

Every great person first learned how to obey, whom to obey and when to obey. A famous anonymous poem says, “The place I choose, or place I shun, my soul is satisfied with none; but when Thy, O God, will direct my way, ‘tis equal joy to go or stay”.

God has your whole life in mind when He directs you.

GOD MADE YOU…

God made you different, not indifferent.

God made you extraordinary, not ordinary.

God made you significant, not insignificant.

God made you competent, not incompetent.

God made you compatible, not incompatible.

God made you active, not inactive.

God made you indispensable, not dispensable.

God made you effective, not defective.

God made you adept, not inept.

God made you distinct, not indistinct.

God made you adequate, not inadequate.

God made you efficient, not inefficient.

God made you superior, not inferior.

God made you responsible, not irresponsible.

God made you sane, not insane.

God made you efficient, not deficient.

God made you consistent, not inconsistent.

God made you insightful, not despiteful.

God made you irresistible, not resistible.

God made you sensitive, not insensitive.

God made you decisive, not indecisive.

God made you an original, not a copy!

I WILL PERSIST UNTIL I SUCCEED

“I was not delivered into this world in defeat,
nor does failure course in my veins.
I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd.
I am a lion and I refuse to talk, to sleep with the sheep.
The slaughterhouse of failure is not my destiny.

I will persist until I succeed”.

“An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat
an army of lions led by a sheep”.

- Old Arab Proverb

A Yeshua-warrior is always full of praise.
A Yeshua-warrior learns to use the phrases “thank you” and “please”
on his way to development.
A Yeshua-warrior is always growing.
A Yeshua-warrior is possessed with his/her dreams.
A Yeshua-warrior launches forth before success is certain.
A Yeshua-warrior is not afraid of confrontations.
A Yeshua-warrior talks about his own mistakes before talking
about someone else’s.
A Yeshua-warrior is a person of honesty and integrity.
A Yeshua-warrior has a good name.
A Yeshua-warrior makes others better.
A Yeshua-warrior is quick to praise and encourage the smallest amount
of improvement.
A Yeshua-warrior is genuinely interested in others.
A Yeshua-warrior looks for opportunities to find someone
doing something right.
A Yeshua-warrior takes others up with him.
A Yeshua-warrior responds to his own failures and acknowledges
them before others have to discover and reveal them.
A Yeshua-warrior never allows murmuring – from himself or others.
A Yeshua-warrior is specific in what he expects.
A Yeshua-warrior holds accountable those who work with him.
A Yeshua-warrior does what is right rather than what is popular.
A Yeshua-warrior is a servant.

A Yeshua-warrior is a lion, not a sheep!

YOU ARE WHAT YOU REPEATEDLY DO

First you make your habit, and then your habits make you.
You are become what you repeatedly do.
What at first you choose, at last compels.

Your habits are either the best of servants or the worst of masters.
Your thoughts lead you on to a purpose.
Your purposes go forth in action.

Your actions form your habits.
Your habits determine your character,
And your character fixes your destiny.

Once in motion, a pattern stays in motion.
Until a new pattern is set; by new decisions,
Which if diligently put into practice,
Can create you that you have always wanted to be!

It’s your life, live it, decide it, determine it.
Don’t just keep letting your habits and fear of unknown
Determine your future to be the same as your past.

Who are you destined to be!!!
Why are you here?
Who has God designed me to be,
If I was not held back by fear and my habits?

Decide today and start acting in a manner
consistent with who you are to be.
Then it will be.
Your new habits will be who you have become!

VERSUS

“Of all the things a warrior should fear,
complacency should head the list”.

“The first rule of holes is:
when you’re in one, stop digging”.

Everyday we make decisions. Daily we are confronted with options and we must choose
one or the other. We cannot have both. These options include:

Being bitter vs. being better.
Indifference vs. decisiveness.
Lukewarmness vs. enthusiasm.
“Give up” vs. ”get up”.
“If we can” vs. “how we can”.
Security vs. risk.
Coping (blending) with evil vs. overcoming evil.
How much we do vs. how much we get done.
Coexisting with darkness vs. opposing darkness.
Destruction vs. development.
Resisting vs. receiving.
Complaining vs. obtaining.
Trying vs. committing.
Strife vs. peace.
Discouragement vs. determination.
Dying vs. growing.
Excusing ourselves vs. demanding more of ourselves.
Doing for self vs. doing for others.
Regression vs. progress.
Drifting vs. steering.
Aimlessness vs. priority.
Irresponsibility vs. accountability.
Activity vs. action.
Problems vs. solutions.
More of everything else vs. more of God.
Asking “Why me?” vs. being in “Who’s Who”.

TODAY I WILL…

“You will never exhaust your capacity to grow toward your potential
or run out of opportunities to help others…
A person who has a dream knows what he is willing to give up
in order to go up”.

Rises early because no day is long enough for day’s work.

Compliment three people.

Make myself valuable to somebody.

Not loose an hour in the morning and spend all day looking for it.

Tackle a problem bigger than me.

Make a small improvement in some area.

Change my old thinking from – maybe, if, impossible; to – Yes! Everything is possible with God!

Do at least three things that will take me out of my comfort zone.

Die to myself.

Give thanks for my daily bread.

Find something different to do.

Leave someone a little better than I found him or her.

Give my best time to communion with God.

Live my Golden Rule so I won’t have to apologize for my actions tomorrow.

Know that the place to be happy is here, the time to be happy is now!

Take small steps to conquer a bad habit.

Judge this day, not by the harvest, but by the seeds I plant.

PRAYER

The greatest power in the world is the power of people to communicate with Almighty God.
Prayer is not a scheme whereby we can move God into our lives
but rather a spiritual exercise through which we draw ourselves toward God
until we are a part of His plan and His purpose.
The purpose of prayer is not to give you what you want when you want it
but to make you the kind of person God wanted you to be
when He put you on the planet earth.

Pursue God with all your strength and heart (hunger)
Re-examine yourself (motives)
Affirm positively what God is able to do within you (ponder)
Yield your-will to God (not my will)
Expect positive results (have faith)
Rejoice! (receive)

PRAYER OF ST.FRANCIS OF ASSISI

LORD, make me an instrument of Thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not to seek to be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving, that we receive;
It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned;
It is in dying, that we are born to Eternal Life.

AMEN
